The Progreso International Bridge is the Valley's medical-tourism crossing: thousands of visitors — many of them winter Texans — walk it every week to the pharmacies, dentists and restaurants of Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas. Foot traffic rules over vehicles here, peaking from mid-morning to mid-afternoon with a high season in winter. On the Texas side it meets FM 1015 toward Weslaco, surrounded by the lower Valley's farmland.
