About this crossing
The Bridge of the Americas — BOTA, known in Juárez as the "Puente Libre" because it charges no toll — connects the Chamizal area of Ciudad Juárez with central-east El Paso. Being free makes it the default for everyday car crossings, and its lines show it at rush hours. It runs General and Ready Lane vehicle lanes, a pedestrian path and commercial access, feeding directly into US-54 and Interstate 10 on the American side.
