PedWest is the pedestrian-only crossing on the western side of the San Ysidro complex, next to Plaza Viva Tijuana and the tourist corridor into downtown Tijuana. It opened to relieve the foot traffic that overwhelmed PedEast and is the natural route between the San Ysidro trolley station and Tijuana's Centro and Avenida Revolución. Being foot-only, its rhythm follows cross-border workers and students rather than the vehicle queues that dominate the rest of the port.
